On June, 8th 1991 the Truffle Association of the city of Turin was founded in the Province Administration room and it was called \u201cTrifule & Triful\u00e8\u201d (truffles and truffle hunters).<\/p>\n

The reason of this association is summarized in article 2 of its charter, where association vocation is comprehensively explained. However, highlighting what the association is not involved in is more significant\u2026
It is not a trade union for truffle hunters, although it takes care of their interests; it is not a group of environmentalists, although it is aware of the environment and territory; it is not a gastronomic guild, although it attracts consumers, where culture and market ultimately end; it is not even an intellectual elite.<\/p>\n

In brief, it is everything about truffles of whatever source.<\/p>\n

The name comes from an instinctive remark on mycorrhiza symbiosis: in the same way truffle and truffle hunters are in mutuality.
The founders represented eight municipalities of Turin Province at that time.
There is only one association in the former Turin province and its goal consists in safeguarding, protecting and promoting, in a wider meaning, truffles and any involved resources: funds, environment, knowledge, technique, hunters, market and related operators, consumers, scientific culture and tradition.<\/p>\n

The association works at first in the area of the City of Turin but without any territory boundary. In fact, since 2016 the President has represented Piedmont\u2019s truffle hunters towards the council for the promotion of regional truffle heritage.<\/p>\n

Our offices are in Rivalba, a little town where 1.193 inhabitants live.<\/p>\n

In the magnificent background of Turin’s hills the second weekend in November is dedicated to the typical product of this area and has been for more than twenty years: Tuber Magnatum Pico, namely the Refined White Truffle. On occasion, the mayor of Rivalba reminded us that \u201cThe Truffle is undoubtedly a distinguishing brand of excellence. It\u2019s the most prestigious product, the \u201cambassador\u201d of Piedmont in the world\u201d. Since 2012 Turin\u2019s hills White Truffle Fair, has highlighted the significant role of \u201cRefined White Truffle\u201d as leading product in the local food and wine field, and is certified as a \u201cNational Exhibition\u201d!<\/p>\n

The association offers the following services to its members:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Application for the examination to obtain the mandatory card for truffle hunting
\u2013 Course for examination, practical and oral.
\u2013 Ten-year renewal card, even in case of loss etc
\u2013 Safeguard of hunters by the regional council and institutions, updates about new laws, regulations etc.
\u2013 Available productive truffle lands belonging to Association property or on gratuitous loan or rented. These lands are continuously under maintenance such as mowing, pruning, plowing and planting.
\u2013 Every year suitable trees are planted to guarantee future truffles to new hunters.
\u2013 Truffle market-exhibition every year on the second Sunday of November in Rivalba.
\u2013 Simulated hunting with your dogs and hunting competitions.
Member rights:
\u2013 In addition to regulations contained in the general charter, each member shall deposit an annual fee equal to 40,00 Euro for the card
\u2013 Training course is free but before attendance, a fee equal to 40 Euro shall be paid, although the examination takes place in September\/October or end of the year.
\u2013 Only members \u201cLiberi Cercatori\u201d (Free Hunters) can be enrolled, namely hunters not belonging to unions, reserves or owning private productive, fenced lands or properties far from their house.
\u2013 Members shall respect truffle lands, by not throwing wastes, not spoiling trees and land, closing digged holes.
\u2013 Turns in the truffle land shall be observed in order not to distract dogs.
\u2013 Cars shall be parked on the roadside or in specific parking, never on grasslands or cultivated fields.
\u2013 Members shall take part in meetings over the year in order to be updated about possible amendments, decisions or exhibitions, above all to the annual general assembly.<\/p>\n

\u201cFin da bambino seguivo mio nonno che oltre ad essere cacciatore, era triful\u00e8 come si dice in torinese, tartufaio. Lo vedevo uscire di casa al mattino presto, quando era ancora buio, per recarsi, segretamente, con i suoi cani fidati nelle valli circostanti alla ricerca del prezioso Tuber Magnatum Pico (tartufo bianco pregiato). La passione di mio nonno era, oltre la ricerca, l\u2019addestramento dei cani da tartufo, passione che mi ha trasmesso dopo avermi insegnato passo per passo\u201d<\/p>\n

L\u20198 giugno 1991, nei saloni dell\u2019Amministrazione Provinciale, si \u00e8 costituita L\u2019Associazione per il tartufo della Provincia di Torino, denominata \u201cTrifule & Triful\u00e8\u201d (tartufi e tartufai).\r\nLa motivazione di questa Associazione \u00e8 riassunta nell\u2019articolo due dello Statuto, dove traspare, a tutto tondo, la vocazione della medesima; ma forse \u00e8 pi\u00f9 significativo sottolineare ci\u00f2 che l\u2019Associazione non \u00e8\u2026<\/p>\r\n

Non \u00e8 un sindacato di categoria dei tartufai, anche se \u00e8 sensibile ai loro interessi; non \u00e8 un insieme di ecologisti, anche se guarda con sensibilit\u00e0 all\u2019ambiente ed al territorio; non \u00e8 una confraternita gastronomica, anche se ammicca ai consumatori, ultimi depositari di una cultura ed un mercato; non \u00e8, nemmeno, una \u00e9lite di intellettuali.\r\nIn sintesi, \u00e8 l\u2019insieme di qualsivoglia iniziativa, intorno al tema del Tartufo.<\/p>\r\n

Il nome, poi nasce da una spontanea osservazione sulla simbiosi della micorriza: cos\u00ec, in pari mutualit\u00e0, sono il tartufo ed il suo Tartufaio.\r\nNel gruppo dei fondatori erano rappresentati ben otto comuni della Provincia di Torino.<\/p>\r\n

L\u2019Associazione, l\u2019unica nella ex Provincia di Torino ha lo scopo di tutelare, difendere e promuovere, nella accezione pi\u00f9 ampia, il tartufo e per esso ogni risorsa che ne sia coinvolta: i fondi, l\u2019ambiente, la conoscenza e la tecnica, i raccoglitori, il mercato ed i suoi operatori, i consumatori, la cultura scientifica e della tradizione.<\/p>\r\n

L\u2019ass. opera con vocazione primaria nell\u2019Area Metropolitana di Torino ma senza vincolo territoriale alcuno, infatti dal 2016 il Presidente rappresenta i tartufai piemontesi alla Consulta per la valorizzazione del patrimonio tartufigeno regionale.<\/p>\r\n

La nostra sede si trova a Rivalba, un paesino di 1.193 abitanti. Nell\u2019incantevole cornice delle colline torinesi il secondo week end di novembre da oltre un ventennio \u00e8 dedicato al prodotto tipico del territorio: il Tuber Magnatum Pico ovvero il Tartufo Bianco Pregiato. In occasione della presentazione della scorsa edizione il Sindaco di Rivalba ha ricordato che \u201cIl tartufo \u00e8 senza dubbio un marchio distintivo d\u2019eccellenza, direi il pi\u00f9 prestigioso dei prodotti, da considerarsi come l\u2019ambasciatore del Piemonte e delle sue colline nel mondo\". Dal 2012 la Fiera del Tartufo Bianco delle Colline Torinesi, manifestazione che sottolinea il ruolo fondamentale del \u201cTartufo Bianco Pregiato\u201d, veicolo trainante dell\u2019enogastronomia locale, ha ottenuto la qualifica di \"Nazionale\".<\/p>\r\n
